WELCOME TO MARK REUTLINGER'S NEWSLETTER

An occasional compilation of news and notes about my writing

Fall 2022

Happy Fall. I hope you and yours are well and have either dodged the Covid bullet or have recovered nicely. It’s been about a year since my last newsletter, because I promised not to bother you with them unless there was something to announce (or at least I had some new jokes to include). Read on for both.

Mrs. KaplanHas a New Home

On November 16, the latest revised edition of MRS. KAPLAN AND THE MATZOH BALL OF DEATH will be released by Wild Rose Press. As you may recall, “Matzoh Ball” was the first of my Mrs. Kaplan cozy mystery series. It was originally published by Random House in 2014, revised and reissued in 2018 by Black Opal Books, and now further revised and reissued (I assume for the last time) by Wild Rose. The significance of this is that now for the first time, all three books in the series—“Mrs. Kaplan and the Matzoh Ball of Death,” “A Pain in the Tuchis,” and “Oy Vey, Maria!”, revolving around the holidays of Passover, Yom Kippur, and Purim, respectively—are under one roof, so to speak: published by the same publisher. Not only are the covers finally a consistent theme, but I anticipate they will be offered as a boxed set at some future date. Meanwhile, they all will be available from Wild Rose, Amazon, and other booksellers.

Just a reminder that my other novels, MURDER WITH STRINGS ATTACHEDMADE IN CHINA (more relevant every day as relations between the U.S. and China continue to deteriorate), and SISTER-IN-LAW: VIOLATION, SEDUCTION, AND THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES (under the pen name M. R. Morgan) are still available. “Strings” recently received a First Place Award for humor from Top Shelf Magazine. Any one of them, like the Mrs. Kaplan books, would be perfect for a relaxed read by the fire on a crisp Fall evening.

If you know someone else who you think might be interested, please pass this information (or the entire Newsletter) along.

And now, as usual, the best reason for reading this far:

Jokes

This time all the jokes are in the form of cartoons. I hope you enjoy them:
